Times are most definitely changing for the all-electric car
Integral Powertrain’s e-Drive division are extremely proud to once again support the dual motors and inverters that played their part in producing such an amazing spectacle at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed. Increasingly the result of combining leading technology with a top draw driver (Romain Dumas) and exceptional engineering is turning heads and encouraging more OEM’s to seek out leaders in their specific field.
Following on from the double record run at Pikes Peak, taking both the electric car and the all comers records, the Volkswagen Motorsport I.D R continued its record breaking success to become the first all-electric car to win the GFoS hill climb timed shoot-out. Yet another Motorsport record falls to the mighty electric motor proving that as well as being clean and efficient, the technology is also excitingly fast.
Electrification and autonomous vehicles have been dominating the automotive news for the past few years, and are set to gather speed as regulatory and industry challenges are confronted and records will continue to be broken as the technologies continue to evolve. If you just look at the Motorsport arena we now have Formula 1 using hybrid powertrains using electric drives to augment the new V6 engines. Formula E has grown from strength to strength, grasped the imagination of audiences worldwide and soon we will have future electric championships for WRX and even autonomous vehicles.
Integral Powertrain and its e-Drive division are at the forefront of this technology and are proud to continue to support this sector as it evolves over the coming years.
