Market demand for cleaner, more economic and sustainable transport has created a growing number of break-through electric motor and hybrid powertrain combinations; together with a proliferation of new high tech fuel cell options. As the combinations of drive system and fuel cell continues to grow, it puts a greater demand on the manufacturers for test, development and certification resources.
Integral Powertrain’s recently upgraded vehicle emissions & driveline test facility will provide OEM’s (Original Equipment Manufacturer) with highly efficient whole-vehicle gasoline, diesel, hybrid and all-electric vehicle testing to next-generation emissions standards, supported by a high level of expertise in powertrain design, test and development.
“We have been delivering powertrain development programmes for over 20 years and have an outstanding reputation for providing a dependable, flexible and cost-effective service to our global automotive clients,” says Integral Powertrain Principal Engineer – Emissions Testing, Alex Vasiliou. “For the last 12 years our testing services have been delivered from our own facilities and this recent upgrade is an exciting development for us that allows us to grow and strengthen our services by providing the security and flexibility that comes from having our own, tightly integrated, facility with a one hundred percent proven delivery route.”
The facilities will house the whole vehicle test facility used by Integral Powertrain to deliver a multi-variant testing solution for global manufacturers of passenger cars and light duty vehicles, from mass market to prestige limited run vehicles. The new facility will be state-of-the-art and provide clients with the latest facilities for testing to EU, Federal, and global standards; the latest Gaseous and Particulate emissions measurement equipment, a high powered 4WD dynamometer, cost-effective -10°C climatic testing, and -35°C vehicle soak storage.
Integral Powertrain Ltd is located at the heart of the UK automotive engineering sector in Milton Keynes, and in support of their continued growth plans and to meet the increasing demands of their customers, the company will soon move into their new, state-of-the-art, 43,000 sq. ft Technical Centre which will, as well as their design and engineering teams, be home to their e-Drive manufacture and test facilities.
