As part of the new Executive Board, Neil has responsibility for the financial, legal and commercial activities for Integral Powertrain as well as oversight of our internal combustion (IC) and hybrid vehicle Emissions and Climate Test Centre delivering flexible and responsive testing and certification, plus our low-mid volume manufacturing capability.
Furthermore, Neil is responsible for the business quality systems, the facilities and acts as Integral Powertrain’s Company Secretary.
University of Oxford (Saïd Business School), Executive Masters in Business Administration (with Distinction) and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Neil began his career in finance working for a mid-sized accountancy firm (Limehouse & Company) in his home town of Rugby in 1990 before leaving to work for 5 years in NHS finance and then as Financial Controller for an IT consultancy. In 1998 Neil joined the UK subsidiary as Financial Controller of the German owned Burgmann Industries GmbH (which later became Eagle Burgmann Industries GmbH following a 2003 German-Japanese alliance), later in 2003 becoming the UK Finance Director and then in 2011 the Joint UK Managing Director (Commercial & Financial), finishing with the parallel role since 2016 as Director of Finance (North Europe) with full, commercial, financial, legal, IT and HR responsibility for 2 UK companies as well as companies in Norway, Sweden, the Netherlands and Poland.
The Eagle Burgmann Group was a sub-group of the much larger, privately owned Freudenberg Group following the 2003 alliance and subsequent acquisition of the Burgmann Group with its sealing technology division heavily focussed upon oil & gas, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and chemical treatment applications.
Much of Neil’s time at Eagle Burgmann was spent leading corporate turnarounds (the UK being a substantial loss maker when Neil joined, to one of the most consistently profitable from 2005 to the present time). He also led the UK M&A activity including the disposal of 2 key business groups from the UK sector, ERP project implementations/upgrades/standardisation programmes across Europe and South Africa, real estate projects and developing strategic plans, the management teams and incentive systems as well as all legal, financial, regulatory and pensions compliance.
