Integral Powertrain’s e-Drive Division has always pushed the boundaries of e-drive technology working with clients all around the world to find the best solution to meet their requirements. Their e-Drives have been used in applications ranging from automotive, aerospace, marine and just recently in the record breaking Volkswagen Motorsport I.D. R race car. There is no doubt that the future of the automotive and motorsport industries is in electric powertrains.
Our team has been working on a new range of e-drive technologies that we will debut for the first time at the 2018 CENEX Low Carbon Vehicle (LCV) event on 12-13 September.
Four new products will be showcased, one of which we are keeping under wraps until the week of the show.
High Performance 1200V Silicon Carbide MOSFET Motor Control Unit
Suitable for hybrid and electric vehicles in automotive, motorsport and aerospace, these next generation high performance Silicon Carbide (SiC) MOSFET Motor Control Units have high phase current and very high switching speed capability therefore allowing the use of faster, more efficient and lightweight Integral e-Drive motors. They are a combination of technologies which have been developed and validated through R&D so that they can be applied with high confidence to new projects.
High Performance Combined MGU & MCU
Designed, manufactured and operational within just 8 months, these 4th generation motors utilise our Core Technology Bespoke (CTB) motor philosophy to deliver high, sustained performance for automotive, motorsport and aerospace applications. Integrated with MCU this package has high power density and enables high axle traction with low mass; as used in the record breaking VW I.D. R Pikes Peak race car.
High Torque SPM Motor Generator Units
The SPM 242 MGU family of electric motors deliver world leading power density and efficiency realised by a combination of advanced electromagnetic design, high conductivity encapsulation and our unique precision liquid cooling system.
Suitable for hybrid and electric vehicles in automotive, motorsport, aerospace and off high-way, the current platform of radial flux electric motors have been designed using an Advanced Intelligent Design (AID) tool-set which can configure the core technology to deliver fully customisable motors to meet precise client performance and package requirements with high confidence and within tight timescales.

Our fourth new product will be revealed on Monday 10th September, just before LCV 2018. It’s designed to help OEMs simplify their electric drivetrain integration efforts, by putting everything into one easy to manage package.
